Alcohol Consumption, Type of Alcoholic Beverage and Risk of Colorectal Cancer at Specific Subsites
Habitual consumption of 3 or more drinks per day may spur the development of colorectal cancer.
This study determined whether alcohol intake is a risk factor for colorectal cancer. Researchers looked at the alcohol intake levels of more than 2,000 colorectal cancer patients for a duration of 13.3 years.
Researchers found out that compared to non-drinkers, individuals who consumed 3 or more drinks per day had increased likelihood of developing colorectal cancer. This data from study indicate that high intake of alcohol is associated with greater risk of colorectal cancer.
